Public funding fuels Limatica's next chapter

European and regional programs back Limatica's mission to make battery testing faster, cleaner and more reliable.

Public funding fuels Limatica's next chapter

Building deep-tech takes patience, capital, and partners who believe in the long horizon of hardware innovation. At Limatica, we are proud to be supported by three complementary public funding programs that are helping us bring high-resolution battery diagnostics from the lab into the factory floor.

The Markteinführung Zuschuss EFRE, co-funded by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, supports the market introduction of our measurement method for battery diagnostics. It combines dedicated hardware, a measurement card and software for data analysis and evaluation — a full-stack solution designed to shorten cell-aging duration in production and enable faster, more informed quality decisions.

The MINT-Fachkräfteprogramm 2021–2027 supports the development and application of cutting-edge data analytics to fundamentally improve how battery cells are qualified. By measuring the intrinsic activity of individual cells and performing high-resolution analysis of the resulting data points, our technology enables a reliable assessment of cell quality within minutes — far faster than conventional testing methods. Even subtle micro-defects, which often remain undetected until later stages of use, can be identified at a very early point.

The Business Angel Bonus helps us scale this innovative measurement technology for quality analysis in lithium-ion battery cell production. It strengthens the capabilities required to bring the solution into broader industrial use, building the team and execution capacity needed to accelerate product development and adoption.

Together, these programs do more than fund a company. They reinforce a European industrial vision: one where sustainable mobility, clean energy and competitive manufacturing are built on rigorous science and world-class engineering. For us, this support translates directly into faster development cycles, deeper R&D, and a stronger foundation to serve battery manufacturers across Europe and beyond.

We are grateful to the European Union, the Federal State authorities and the private business angels standing behind us. The trust of public funders — combined with the belief of our customers, partners and team — is what makes it possible to build the diagnostics infrastructure that the battery industry needs.
