Collaboration is key

A new consortium project aims to reduce cell finishing from several days to under 24 hours.

Collaboration is key

Collaboration is where battery innovation becomes real.

Together with a strong industrial consortium, Limatica is starting a new research project focused on reducing cell finishing time from multiple days to under 24 hours.

Limatica will focus on its core use case: reducing self-discharge testing to under one hour. The project will also explore how voltage-noise data can provide new insights into the wetting process — opening the door to early root-cause analysis in battery production.

Initial tests with colleagues from Dürr Somac have shown promising results. Now, the work moves into the next phase.

The project is funded under the B@TS initiative by the Bundesministerium für Forschung, Technologie und Raumfahrt.
